Why We Built Plug & Sip: The Search for the Perfect Work Spot
From a frustrating coffee hunt in London, KY to a community-powered map for remote workers. Here's the story behind Plug & Sip.

It started, as most great ideas do, with a need for caffeine and a dash of frustration.
A while back, I was on a work trip with my wife in London, KY. While she was busy with her work, I grabbed my laptop, ready to conquer the remote work day. I set out to find a local coffee shop—envisioning a cozy corner, the smell of roasted beans, and that sweet, sweet WiFi.
I pulled up a map, found a spot, and drove over. Drive-thru only.
Okay, take two. I found another place nearby. Also drive-thru only.
There I was, laptop in bag, coffee-less and WiFi-less, thinking, "Why isn't there a better way to find this stuff?" I didn't just need coffee; I needed a workspace. I needed to know if there were outlets, if the tables were big enough for a laptop, and if I could actually sit down.
That frustration planted a seed. I was looking for a project to sharpen my software development skills, and suddenly, the perfect problem was staring me in the face.
Enter Plug & Sip (Beta)
Plug & Sip is the resource I wished I had that day. It's a map built for us—the remote workers, the students, the digital nomads. It's not just about finding coffee; it's about finding workspaces.
Why "Beta"?
You might notice the "Beta" label. That's because we're just getting started. We're building this plane while flying it (hopefully with better turbulence). We're adding features like business verification so owners can claim their listings, and we're constantly tweaking the search to help you find exactly what you need.
But most importantly, we need you.
This is a community effort. We need you to add those hidden gems you love, verify the WiFi speeds, and let us know which spots have the best outlets. So, grab a coffee, pull up a chair, and help us build the ultimate guide to working remotely.
