Plug & Sip is a community-driven directory of work-friendly cafes built for remote workers, digital nomads, and students. Unlike other cafe finders, we focus on what actually matters for getting work done: Wi-Fi quality, outlet availability, noise levels, and laptop-friendly seating.
Yes! Browsing cafes, creating an account, writing reviews, and earning points are all completely free. We may introduce optional premium features in the future, but the core experience will always be free.
You can browse cafes without an account, but you'll need one to:
Every cafe listing has a badge showing where the information came from and how trustworthy it is. There are three levels:
The Remote Worker Approved badge appears on cafes that meet our minimum standards for remote work: Good or Excellent Wi-Fi and Some or Plentiful outlet availability. It's calculated automatically based on the listing data, so you can trust that any cafe with this badge has the basics covered.
Any meaningful community interaction upgrades a cafe automatically. If someone writes a review, uploads an approved photo, or has an edit suggestion accepted, the listing gets promoted to Community Verified. The more people contribute, the more accurate the listing becomes.
Achievement badges are earned automatically when you hit specific milestones:

Visit any cafe page and click “Write Review” to share your experience. You'll rate the cafe 1–5 stars overall, and can optionally add:
Adding a text comment earns more points than a rating alone (20 vs 10 points).
The best reviews help other remote workers make decisions:
Yes! You can edit your review anytime by visiting the cafe page. You can also delete it, though you'll lose the points you earned. Editing an existing review doesn't award additional points.

Yes, to keep things fair and encourage quality over quantity. Each action type has its own daily limit:
Limits reset at midnight in your local timezone. Check your profile dashboard to see where you stand.
Contributing on consecutive days builds a streak. You can earn up to 25 bonus points per day for maintaining a streak, and hitting a 30-day streak earns the rare Streak Master badge. Miss a day and the streak resets, but your longest streak is always tracked on your profile.
Points are generally permanent. However, you may lose points if a contribution is found to be spam or fake, you violate community guidelines, or content is removed for policy violations.
Click “Add Cafe” in the navigation, then fill out the details:
Submissions go through moderation and are typically reviewed within 1–3 business days. You'll get an email when it's approved. New cafe submissions earn 50 points.
Visit the cafe page and click “Suggest Edit.” You can update things like hours, contact info, Wi-Fi quality, outlet availability, and more. Edits go through moderation and earn 30 points when approved.

You can upload up to 5 photos per cafe per day. The first approved photo earns 25 points, and the next two earn 10 each.

We're growing our directory every day, but some cities have more coverage than others. Try expanding your search radius, or even better — submit the cafes you know about! You'll earn 50 points for each one that gets approved.
Tap the heart icon on any cafe to save it to your favorites. You can view all your saved cafes from your profile or the dedicated favorites page. It's an easy way to bookmark cafes you want to revisit.
Follow other users to see their activity in your feed — new reviews, photos, and cafe submissions. Visit someone's profile and click “Follow” to get started. Building a following also contributes to badges like Influencer (100+ followers) and Connector (follow 50 active contributors).
Every user gets a unique referral code (find yours in your profile). Share it with friends — when someone signs up using your code, you earn 100 points.
If you own a cafe listed on Plug & Sip, you can claim it:

We don't remove reviews unless they violate our community guidelines. However, you can respond professionally to address concerns, and encourage happy customers to share their experience. Constructive feedback helps everyone.
You control your profile visibility:
Note: Approved reviews are always public since they help the community.
Go to Account Settings, scroll to the bottom, and click “Delete Account.” You'll need to confirm with your password. Your personal information is permanently deleted, but contributions (reviews, photos) are anonymized and remain on the site. This cannot be undone.
Use the “Report” button on any review, photo, profile, or cafe listing. Our moderation team reviews all reports within 24 hours.
